Manor Downs track report

Mary Rampellini|Mar 02, 2005

Manor Downs, a small track in Austin, Texas, is scheduled to open Saturday after its meet was delayed a week by the Texas Racing Commission to give the track time to repair damage to the racing surface.

The first card of the mixed meet will feature trials for the Grade 3, $50,000-added Longhorn Futurity for Quarter Horses. The finale is scheduled for March 19.

Manor Downs, which races on weekends, is scheduled to race through April 24. The final card will include three stakes, two of them for Thoroughbreds: the $20,000 Manor Downs Thoroughbred Futurity at 4 1/2 furlongs and the $18,000 Tony Sanchez Memorial Mile. Also on the card is the $75,000-added Manor Downs Futurity for Quarter Horses.
