Manor Downs track report

Mary Rampellini|Feb 23, 2005

The start of the mixed meet at Manor Downs, a small track in Austin, Texas, has been pushed back to March 5. The track was to open on Saturday, but the start was delayed a week in order to give Manor Downs time to repair damage to its racing surface, according to a release issued by the Texas Racing Commission.

Manor Downs races on weekends only, operating a meet for Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses. The track's stakes program was not affected by the delay, as the first stakes of the meet, a handicap for Quarter Horses, is set for March 6.

The meet was scheduled to run through April 24. The commission and the Texas Horsemen's Partnership will work with Manor to make sure no racing opportunities are lost, according to the commission.
