Main Sequence may point to United Nations
Speaking Sunday at Keeneland, trainer Graham Motion said the champion Main Sequence is doing “really good” at his Fair Hill Training Center base in Maryland following his trip to Dubai, where he finished seventh in the Group 1 Sheema Classic on March 28.
“I’m so pleased with how he came back from Dubai,” Motion said.
Immediately upon his return from Dubai, Main Sequence was quarantined in Chicago before continuing on to Maryland.
Motion mentioned the Grade 1 United Nations Stakes on July 5 at Monmouth Park as the potential comeback target for the gelding.
“I think probably the United Nations,” Motion said. “If not that, it’ll be the [Grade 1 Sword Dancer Invitational on Aug. 29 at Saratoga]. But likely the United Nations. Very similar to last year.”
Main Sequence won both the United Nations and Sword Dancer last summer, then added the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic Invitational and Breeders’ Cup Turf to complete a 4-for-4 campaign in Grade 1 company that earned him Eclipse Awards as both champion older male and champion turf male.
