Magna network adds Jersey tracks

Monmouth and The Meadowlands have been added to Magna Entertainment's new satellite television service under a deal signed late last week. The two tracks will give the service, the Racetrack Television Network, critical summer and fall signals. Monmouth begins its popular Thoroughbred meet in May, running through Labor Day, while The Meadowlands runs its Thoroughbred meet from early September to mid-November. Additionally, The Meadowlands holds the country's most popular harness meet, from late December until early August.

The Racetrack Television Network, launched last week by Magna, is so far anchored by Magna racetracks Santa Anita and Gulfstream, which both race exclusively in the winter.
