Magna, Bally in slots deal
Bally Technologies Inc., the gambling and entertainment conglomerate, has signed a contract with Magna Entertainment Corp. to manage the slot-machine casino scheduled to open at the Magna-owned Gulfstream Park this fall.
The agreement calls for Bally to supervise the casino's revenue accounting, create a bonus program for players, and provide a wide variety of gaming machines at Gulfstream. The track is expected to open its slots complex with 500 machines in October.
"We conducted a very thorough competitive review of all of the leading systems suppliers and determined that Bally was our preferred vendor," said Paul Micucci, president of Gulfstream Park. "We're confident that a combination of games and bonusing technology from Bally will attract players and provide visitors to Gulfstream Park."
