Magna 5 pays $5,323

The $2 Magna 5 returned $5,323.20 to 74 winning ticketholders on Saturday. The pool reached $505,033, exceeding the guaranteed pool of $500,000 in the bet's second week.

The Magna 5 is a weekly pick 5 covering five races from four racetracks owned by Magna Entertainment. When the bet was initially offered on Jan. 31, the pool was $460,400. An insurance policy purchased by Magna made up the shortfall.

Saturday's winners were Alarm the C.E.O ($6.20) in the ninth race at Laurel, Bo's Sister ($3.20) in the ninth at Gulfstream Park, Jets Fan ($25) in the fourth at Golden Gate Fields, Medaglia d'Oro ($3.20) in the Donn Handicap at Gulfstream, and Beautiful Balance ($11.60) in the sixth race at Santa Anita.

Bo's Sister and Medaglia d'Oro were favored.

Magna intends to offer the pick five each Saturday.
