Made You Look will make dirt debut in Fountain of Youth

Made You Look, a multiple graded stakes winner on turf, will make his dirt debut in this Saturday’s Grade 2, $400,000 Fountain of Youth Stakes at Gulfstream Park, trainer Todd Pletcher said Sunday.
“The horse has trained really well on dirt, he’s got a dirt pedigree, at some point we wanted to test it,” said Pletcher, who trains Made You Look for Let’s Go Stable and Three Chimneys Farm. “He’s doing real well at the moment. Now’s the time. There are no real easy spots. We figured since he’s here, we’ll stay home and give it a try.”
Made You Look is a son of More Than Ready out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Night and Day. Made You Look’s second dam is the 11-time dirt Grade 1 winner Serena’s Song.
Made You Look has gone 3 for 6 with victories in the Grade 2 With Anticipation last summer at Saratoga and the Grade 3 Dania Beach in January at Gulfstream. Most recently, he finished third, with traffic trouble, in the Kitten’s Joy at Gulfstream on Feb. 4.
Though Javier Castellano has ridden Made You Look in all six of his starts, he is committed to Gunnevera in the Fountain of Youth. Pletcher said John Velazquez will ride Made You Look.
Pletcher is also considering entering Sonic Mule, winner of the Mucho Macho Man Stakes in January for the Fountain of Youth but said that decision won’t be made until entry day. Sonic Mule, third in the Grade 3 Swale Stakes on Feb. 4, is also being considered for the Tampa Bay Derby and Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park.
Pletcher also confirmed Sunday that Action Everyday, a two-time winner at Tampa Bay Downs this winter, will be shipped to New York on Monday for Saturday’s Grade 3, $300,000 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct.
Hedge Fund, a recent maiden winner at Gulfstream, is being pointed to the $800,000 Sunland Derby on March 26, Pletcher said.
