Maclean's Music filly tops Louisiana sale
A filly by Maclean’s Music brought $145,000 from East Hickman to top the consignor select yearling sale conducted by the Equine Sales Company in Opelousas, La., on Sept. 5.
The filly, who was bred in Louisiana, was consisgned by agent 4M Ranch. She is out of the Stormy Atlantic mare Sweet Jackie Jo and is a half-sister to Actif Storm and Atchata, both stakes winners at 2 in divisions of the D.S. “Shine” Young Memorial Futurity at Evangeline Downs.
Maclean’s Music is the sire of Preakness winner Cloud Computing.
◗ A colt by Pollard’s Vision brought $30,000 from Lee Young to top the September yearling sale in Oklahoma City put on by Carter Sales Company. The Oklahoma-bred out of Kip Seville, a full sister to Breeders’ Cup winner Kip Deville, was consigned by Mighty Acres, agent for Center Hills Farm. A total of 34 yearlings sold for $358,300, for an average of $10,858.
