Lucky Pulpit, Unusual Heat represented in Barretts select yearling sale
Two of California's late and most successful sires will be represented by a handful of offerings from their respective final crops in California's major summer yearling auction.
Three yearlings from the final crop of Lucky Pulpit and four from last crop of Unusual Heat are among the 86 cataloged for Barretts select yearling sale, set for Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Del Mar.

Unusual Heat's representatives in the Barretts catalog include a half-sister to Grade 1-placed stakes winner Bel Air Sizzle and stakes winner America's Friend, as well as a colt whose second dam is Grade 1 winner Plenty of Light.
Lucky Pulpit, the sire of two-time Horse of the Year California Chrome, died of a heart attack on opening day of the 2017 breeding season at Harris. The stallion's yearlings cataloged include a filly out of a half-sister to Grade 1 winner The Usual Q.T. He is also represented by a filly from the immediate family of Grade 1 winners Adjucating, Dispute, and Time for a Change, as well as the extended family of champions Bold Lad, Misty Morn, and Successor.
