SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Undefeated Luckarack ($8.60) won his third straight start and second straight stakes, pulling clear in the lane to win the $61,300 Cavonnier Juvenile at the Sonoma County Fair on Saturday. The undefeated Cal-bred 2-year-old by first-year sire Lucky Pulpit was boxed behind pacesetting Ammunition and River’s Chapel and inside favored Kingsford Drive early. Jockey Frank Alvarado swung Luckarack outside Kingsford Drive coming into the lane and had the lead by the eighth pole. He continued strong to win the six-furlong race by 2 1/2 lengths over King Cola, who finished second in a stakes for the second straight time. The winning time was 1:10.98. King Cola, who also was second in the Lost in the Fog, was 3 1/2 lengths in front of Kingsford Drive. Luckarack, a Mr. and Mrs. Larry Williams homebred trained by Steve Specht, also won the Everett Nevin in Pleasanton. He earned $41,300 for the victory, lifting his career earnings to $81,600.
