Lovely Daniella swoops past rivals

Lovely Daniella won her second race in a row Saturday, coming from far back to win the $50,000 Jack Betta Be Rite for New York-bred fillies and mares at Finger Lakes.

With Dean Frates riding, Lovely Daniella was last in the field of six for much of the 1 1/16-mile Jack Betta Be Rite. Frates took the far turn wide with Lovely Daniella and began their stretch run. As the pacesetting Prom Dance tired, Lovely Daniella moved up rapidly and drew off to a three-length victory. Yet Again made a rally of her own but was only second-best. She finished 2 3/4 lengths ahead of third-place Gold for the Queen.

The favored entry of Afleet Alexandra and Bob's Dylan finished fourth and sixth, with Prom Dance in between.

Lovely Daniella, a 4-year-old daughter of Gold Token, finished in a final time of 1:48.52, paying $18.40.
