Jareth Loveberry, leading rider during 2020 and 2021 at Arlington and leading rider during Hawthorne’s spring meet in 2022, has moved his tack to Kentucky. Loveberry confirmed he’ll be taking mounts at the upcoming Keeneland meet and plans to go on to Churchill Downs. Loveberry tied for third in the jockey standings at the recently completed Fair Grounds meet, riding 50 winners before getting hurt in March. Matt Muzikar, who books mounts for Tyler Gaffalione, will represent Loveberry. His longtime agent Steve Leving suggested Loveberry partner with Muzikar since Leving doesn’t have the same connections in Kentucky as in Chicago and New Orleans. :: Take your handicapping to the next level and play with FREE DRF Past Performances - Formulator or Classic. ◗ The 3-year-old filly Mendrel has been privately purchased following an eye-catching career debut on March 16 at Hawthorne. Sale inquiries came shortly thereafter and Mendrel was purchased by the agent Brad Weisbord on behalf of Madaket Stables, Michael Dubb, and Jay Hanley. Weisbord confirmed that Mendrel will be trained by Chad Brown. By Blame out of Custody, by Broken Vow, Mendrel fetched $5,000 at a 2021 yearling sale. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering? Check out DRF's Handicapping 101 and Wagering 101 pages.
