Love to Shop ($7.70) earned $75,000 for the partnership of Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable. The daughter of hot Kentucky sire Violence was coming off a troubled third in the Grade 3 Ontario Colleen in her local debut and first start for trainer Kevin Attard.
“I learned a little bit about her last time,” Wilson said. “I watched a lot of replays, Kevin said he’d only just gotten her and to give her the best trip I could. The last 70 yards, it got a little tight. She’s such a big, strong filly, and it wasn’t ideal.
“This time, I had a chance to get her into a nice outside trip and let her get into rhythm. We have a three-eighths of a mile stretch run, and I just took her off heels and just let her build and build. She finished on strong and got the job done.”
