Jockeys John Jacinto and Rodolfo Guerra were both transported to a Bossier City, La., hospital with undetermined injuries following a spill in the sixth race at Louisiana Downs on Thursday afternoon.

Jacinto’s mount, Simply Bodacious, shortened stride and fell midway on the turn in the 6 ½-furlong $5,000 claiming event, throwing Jacinto to the ground. The Ashman, ridden by Guerro, was unable to avoid his stricken rival and fell over Simply Bodacious as did High Hand with Don Simington aboard. Simington appeared to escape serious injury as did The Ashman and High Hand, who each completed the race without their riders. Simply Bodacious was euthanized on the track.
