Louisiana Downs: Deja vu for Heart Appeal

Heart Appeal will be moving back to the surface, distance, and level of his last win in Saturday's featured eighth race at Louisiana Downs. The $35,000 optional claimer will be run over 6 1/2 furlongs. Others in the race include the up-and-coming Special Production and leading contender Ulah Tyson.

Heart Appeal was a winner at the distance two starts ago, on Aug. 4. He led throughout for a 2 3/4-length win. From there, Heart Appeal tried turf, and finished fifth to multiple stakes winner Zarb's Dahar in an allowance at Louisiana Downs on Sept. 8. Tracy Hebert has the mount on Heart Appeal for trainer Tom Howard.

Special Production has won 3 of 5 starts, his latest out a three-quarter length win over second-level allowance foes. He is cutting back to one turn fin this race. Todd Dupuis has the mount for trainer Harold Hahn.
