Louisiana Downs: Cabildo Bag rallies

Bossier City, La. - Longshot Cabildo Bag rallied furiously down the middle of the track Sunday, upsetting a large field in the Rebel Stakes for 2-year-old fillies. Crypto's Best also turned in a late run from well back to finish second, followed by the favored Royal Pet and Dee's Justice.

Breaking sharply under rider Josh Romero, Cabildo Bag ($38.60) fell steadily back through the field of 12 and raced in front of only two rivals entering the turn. Romero then asked his mount for some run and the daughter of Bag responded, edging clear in the late going to complete 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:06.05.

Trained by Glenn Delahoussaye for owner C S C Stables, Cabildo Bag is now 2 for 2 in her career. She earned $30,000.
