Lost in the Fog fastest in work

Chuck Dybdal|Mar 13, 2006

Lost in the Fog, the champion sprinter of 2005, breezed five furlongs before Saturday's first race at Golden Gate Fields in 59.09 seconds, going easily. He galloped out well over the fast track and did not appear at all tired afterward. The work was the fastest of 21 at the distance on the day.

Trainer Greg Gilchrist said the Golden Gate Fields Sprint on April 22 remains the target for Lost in the Fog's 2006 debut.

Saturday's work was Lost in the Fog's fifth since Feb. 12. Plans call for Lost in the Fog to work again this Saturday going 5 1/2 furlongs, followed by six- and then 6 1/2-furlong moves and a "last couple to sharpen him up," Gilchrist said.
