Los Alamitos receives accreditation
Los Alamitos has received accreditation from the National Thoroughbred Racing Association’s Safety and Integrity Alliance after officials with that organization reviewed the track’s racing operation earlier this month.
The review focused on a variety of issues, including backstretch facilities, medication, track maintenance, and safeguards for the betting public.
There are 24 racetracks in North America certified by the Safety and Integrity Alliance. Los Alamitos is one of five certified tracks in California, along with Del Mar, Fairplex Park, Golden Gate Fields, and Santa Anita.
Los Alamitos concludes its summer meeting on Sunday and will have additional race meetings in September and December. The track has taken over dates previously run by Hollywood Park and Fairplex Park. Fairplex Park remains open as a training facility.
