Los Alamitos alters simulcast programming

Los Alamitos is changing the format of its simulcast programs as a result of the withdrawal of hosted programs on FanDuel TV as of last Sunday.
FanDuel TV announced earlier this year that it would reduce its ontrack and studio programming to a limited number of venues that wouldn't include Los Alamitos. The change went into effect after racing on Sunday. FanDuel TV will continue with ontrack and studio-hosted programming at the Del Mar summer and fall meetings this year before that is eliminated.
Los Alamitos has had a heavy presence on FanDuel TV since the late 1990s, when the network began as TVG. The track’s weekend evening programs of racing for Quarter Horses and lower-level Thoroughbreds were a prime time staple with on-location commentary.
When Los Alamitos resumes evening racing on Sunday, commentator Eulices Gomez, who has appeared on FanDuel TV in recent years, will anchor coverage that can be viewed on the track’s website, LosAlamitos.com, as well on the websites of several leading account wagering systems. Gomez will be joined on Sunday by longtime FanDuel TV commentator Dave Weaver, and later this month by Jose Contreras, another leading commentator for years on FanDuel TV.
The daytime simulcasting program on the track’s website and via account wagering systems will feature commentary from Weaver, Kurt Hoover of FanDuel TV, and Mike Willman, the host of a Southern California racing radio program who has a lengthy background in racing publicity and broadcasting. On Saturday, part of the Los Alamitos program, including the Grade 2 Great Lady M. Stakes, will be presented on “America’s Day at the Races” on the Fox Sports 1 cable network.
This weekend is the third and final weekend of the Los Alamitos afternoon summer program for Thoroughbreds.
