Los Alamitos $2 pick six has $58,051 carryover for Sunday
CYPRESS, Calif. - For the second consecutive day, there were no winning tickets in the $2 pick six at Los Alamitos on Saturday, leading to a carryover of $58,051 for Sunday, the closing day of the meeting.
Because Sunday is the final day of the track’s three-week season, the entirety of the pick six pool must be distributed. If there are no tickets with six winners, the pool will be paid to ticketholders with five winners.
Saturday’s carryover was clinched after the fifth of six races, but began with a tricky start when Oobubbakakayo paid $84 to win the fourth race, the first segment of the bet.
On Sunday, the pick six covers the sixth through 11th races on an 11-race program that begins at 1 p.m. Pacific. The sixth race has a post time of 3:19 p.m. Pacific.
Before scratches, the pick six races have fields of 8 in the sixth race, run at a mile, and 12-horse fields through the remainder of the sequence, all sprints.
The pool of new money on a day with a compulsory payout may surpass $300,000.
