Los Al $2M to Blues Girl Too

Blues Girl Too, the only filly in a field of 10, pulled an upset in Friday's Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, adding confusion to an already murky championship picture for the nation's 2-year-old Quarter Horse division.

The Two Million Futurity was the richest Quarter Horse race in the nation this year.

Ridden by Saul Ramirez, Jr., Blues Girl Too ($23.20) ran 400 yards in 19.31 seconds, the second-fastest 400 yards in track history.

Blues Girl Too finished a head in front of FDD Dynasty, one of three males in the race who had won seven-figure futurities earlier this year. FDD Dynasty won the $1.1 million Ed Burke Memorial Futurity at Los Alamitos.

No Secrets Here, the winner of the All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs, finished third, a length behind Blues Girl Too. The 3-2 favorite, No Secrets Here bumped with a rival at the start, but closed ground in the final 200 yards.

Blues Girl Too, trained by Joe Bassett, has won 5 of 7 starts and $1,214,666.
