Lookinforthesecret takes Honor the Hero

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - Lookinforthesecret lived up to his odds-on billing when he prevailed by 4 1/2 lengths in the $45,000 Honor the Hero Turf Express Stakes at Canterbury Park on Monday.

Seven rivals lined up for the turf sprint, but Lookinforthesecret, owned by Balkrisna Sukharan, quickly doused any hopes for an upset, opening a daylight margin while setting fractions of 21.82 and 44.01 seconds. Under steady prompting from rider Paul Nolan, Lookinforthesecret widened his advantage racing to the wire. Smoke Smoke Smoke held second, a length clear of third-place finisher Slick Carson. Lookinforthesecret just missed the course record of 56 seconds flat when he completed the five furlongs over firm going in 56.06.

Lookinforthesecret was claimed by trainer Jamie Ness at Tampa Bay Downs in January and has won five races since. The victory in the Honor the Hero was the second stakes win for Lookinforthesecret, who also captured the Turf Dash Stakes at Tampa in March.
