Lookin At Lucky's book stocked with top-level mares

Two-time champion Lookin At Lucky will have at least 17 Grade or Group 1 winners or producers in his first book, Coolmore Stud revealed Friday.

The Grade 1 winners booked to the first-season sire in 2011 include Take Charge Lady, who won back-to-back runnings of the Spinster Stakes in 2002 and 2003.

So far, breeders have booked 11 Group or Grade 1-producing dams to Lookin At Lucky this year. Among them are Antoniette, dam of recent Santa Monica winner Switch; I’ll Get Along, dam of 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner Smarty Jones; Turko’s Turn, dam of 2001 Horse of the Year Point Given; Half Queen, dam of 2003 champion juvenile filly Halfbridled; St. Helen’s Shadow, dam of 2001 Champagne winner Officer; and Twenty Eight Carat, dam of 2000 Champagne winner A P Valentine.
