Lookin for Loki goes for hot trainer in turf sprint
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
NEW ORLEANS – You’ll probably want to think twice about opposing Lookin for Loki in the featured eighth race Sunday at Fair Grounds, a first-level allowance at 5 1/2 furlongs on turf also open to $17,500 claimers.
Since Lookin for Loki finished second Jan. 6 in a $25,000 claiming sprint on turf here, his trainer, Chris Hartman, has won 16 of 27 Fair Grounds starts. When A.K. Safari won a low-level claimer here Thursday by more than 13 lengths, it gave Hartman six winners from his last seven Fair Grounds starters. Earlier in the meet, Hartman had a run of five winners from six starters.

All these winning runners have put Hartman near the top of the Fair Grounds trainer standings, with his 22 winners trailing only Brad Cox and Ron Faucheux, who have 24 winners. Tom Amoss also sat at 22 winners entering the Friday card.
Hartman also won two races in a row last weekend at Oaklawn Park, where he trains a division.
