Longchamp: Be Fabulous takes Prix Royal Oak

Improving 4-year-old filly Be Fabulous won her group stakes debut Sunday, capturing the Group 1 Prix Royal Oak by 1 3/4 lengths at Longchamp.

Trained by Andre Fabre for Godolphin, Be Fabulous was ridden to victory by Maxime Guyon, who rated his mount in mid-pack before making a final surge in the final furlong of this long-distance race over one mile, seven and one-half furlongs. Be Fabulous, a German-bred daughter of Samun, clearly was best, but little separated the next four three across the finish, with Miss Lago second by a head over Shankardeh, who was a nose better than Tac De Boistron. Winning time over “good” going was 3:21.47.

In Italy, Quiza Quiza Quiza won the Group 1 Premio Lydio Tezio for older females. Beatrice Aurore finished second, Kapitale third in the 1 1/4-mile race at Capannelle.
