The 86th running of the Grade 3, $100,000 Longacres Mile is the highlight of the 2021 live meet at Emerald Downs. The Longacres Mile is scheduled for Aug. 15. A handicap race for 3-year-olds and up, the Mile is supported by the $50,000 Emerald Distaff for fillies and mares. Another highlight of the meet is Aug. 22 when the $50,000 Barbara Shinpock for 2-year-old fillies and $50,000 WTBOA for 2-year-old colts and geldings share the spotlight with a couple of Quarter Horses stakes: the $40,000 Bank of America Challenge for 3-year-olds and up, and the $30,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge for 2-year-olds. The $50,000 Muckleshoot Derby and $50,000 Washington Oaks are featured on July 25. The $70,000 Gottstein Futurity for 2-year-olds is the second-richest race at the meet. The mile and sixteenth race headlines the closing-day card on Sept. 23.  The $50,000 Muckleshoot Tribal Classic for 3-year-olds and up, and the $50,000 Washington Cup Filly and Mare will be part of the closing day festivities. Both races are at a mile and a sixteenth and restricted to horses bred in Washington or British Columbia. The Emerald meet begins on Wednesday, May 19.
