Lone Star will have earlier weekend post times for rest of meet

Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas, has adjusted some post times for the remainder of the meet, with first post for most Saturday and Sunday cards moved up to 11 a.m. Central.
First post for weekend cards had been 1:35 p.m. The forecast for this Saturday is a high of 104 degrees, according to AccuWeather.
Lone Star official Brandon Leigh said the decision to alter post times was made Monday morning due to the forecast for extreme heat. He said the concern was for the safety of both the riders and horses.
Lone Star has lost one card of racing this meet due to extreme heat.
Leigh said the new post time applies to all cards previously scheduled for a 1:35 p.m. post. The exception is July 3-4, when first post is 5 p.m. Central to accommodate fireworks after the races.
Leigh said post time for Thursday and Friday night cards will remain 6:35 p.m. Central.
