Lone Star Park: Young Fuselier is Texas-bound

Casey Fuselier, who as an apprentice won 15 races at the recently concluded Delta Downs meet, will ride next at Lone Star Park, which opens on April 3.

Fuselier, 16, began riding on Jan. 5. He said he plans to ride later this year in Chicago and Kentucky. Rick Mocklin, agent for three-time Lone Star riding champ Corey Lanerie, will book mounts for Fuselier.

* Lone Star plans to give away 10,000 American flags on opening night to salute the troops in the Middle East. The track will not race on Wednesdays until April 30, the same schedule as last year. The 70-day meet runs through July 13.

* Lone Star will bring back the pick four this year. The wager will be offered on the last four races of every card.
