Lone Star names new president

Lone Star Park has promoted Drew Shubeck to the post of president, three weeks after Corey Johnsen resigned from the position to pursue another racing venture. Shubeck had been brought on as vice president and general manager of Lone Star last year, and remains general manager of the track, located near Dallas.

With the promotion, others at Lone Star have moved into new roles. G.W. Hail, the vice president of marketing and sales, and Paula Newman, vice president of finance, were both promoted to vice president and assistant general manager.

Shubeck came to Lone Star, which is owned by Magna Entertainment Corp., after serving as general manager of MEC Pennsylvania Racing at The Meadows.
