GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - Lone Star Park leading rider Harry Hernandez is expected to miss the remainder of the meet due to injuries sustained in a three-horse incident Friday night, according to his agent Cody Autrey. He said Hernandez sustained a collapsed lung and four broken ribs and was expected to be released from the hospital on Saturday.   “He’s out for the immediate future,” Autrey said. “We don’t know what the timeframe is yet. We’ll target Remington to return.”  :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Join DRF Bets. Lone Star’s meet ends July 14. Remington Park opens Aug. 16. Jockey David Cabrera, who also was involved in the first-race incident, sustained a cut underneath his eye and will miss Saturday and Sunday, said his agent, Jose Santos Jr. The skin was glued for healing purposes and doctors do not want to risk dirt in the area for the next week.  Santos said Cabrera will be back riding Friday, and will have a mask to continue to protect the area underneath his eye. He said other tests – a head and neck scan as a precaution – came back clean. Rene Diaz, the third rider involved in the incident, sustained a “little bit” of a contusion on his elbow, said agent Travis Church. Church said on Saturday morning that Diaz was in the gym and if he felt well, he was going to ride on Saturday. Diaz’s mount, Do Your Job, threw his rider on the final turn and continued running with the field and was picked up by outriders. Cabrera’s mount, Board Certified, and Hernandez’s mount, Mo Tap, both fell but walked off, according to the chart of the race. Hernandez through Friday night led the Lone Star standings with 36 wins. He won the meet’s richest race, the Grade 3, $400,000 Steve Sexton Mile aboard Heroic Move, in May, and recently hit a milestone of 1,000 career wins. Diaz is tied for third in the standings and Cabrera ranks eighth, according to statistics from Lone Star. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
