Loch Dubh overhauled Back to Gold at the sixteenth pole and quickly strode clear to capture his stakes debut in the $50,000 Turfway Park Prevue in Florence, Ky., on Saturday. With Victor Lebron riding for owner Texas Toyco LLC and trainer Jeff Talley, Loch Dubh finished two lengths before Back to Gold, while Rudy Flyer, the 2-5 favorite and early leader, was another 3 1/2 lengths back in third. Loch Dubh, claimed for a mere $15,000 from a maiden victory at Churchill Downs in November, returned $14.40 to win after completing 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16.72 over Polytrack. The winner is a Kentucky-bred colt by Friends Lake. Gimmeawinn was an early scratch, leaving a field of nine. The Prevue is the first 3-year-old stakes at the Turfway winter-spring meet and is followed by the WEBN, Battaglia Memorial, and Lane's End stakes.
