Susie Raisher Locally Owned returned $9.10 in winning the Stud Muffin at Aqueduct on Saturday.

OZONE PARK, N.Y. - Locally Owned and Mosienko, two horses whose best form seemed behind them, both returned to the winner’s circle Saturday in the two richest of six starter allowance races that highlighted Aqueduct’s 10-race program.

In the $75,000 Stud Muffin, at 1 3/8 miles, Locally Owned, under seven-pound apprentice Jaime Torres, out finished pacesetting Good Skate by 1 1/4 lengths. It was a half-length back to even-money favorite Tonal Impact in third.

It was the seventh win from 35 starts for Locally Owned ($9.10), who in 2021 won the Grand Prix American Jockey Club at Belmont Park but has had just one win from 10 starts since.

Tom Morley, who trains Locally Owned for Flying P Stable, said he had been pointing to this race for six months.

“So to pull it off is huge,” Morley said after the race. “And it’s huge for Flying P, too. They’re a big outfit in the claiming game, so to win one of these starter races is great. We won last year with Dark Money and to win with this horse is just a little bit extra special. That was a good race and you would have had to run a 90 Beyer to win today, so we’re absolutely thrilled.”

In the $75,000 Sis City, Mosienko carried out favored Tough Street turning for home, ran away from that one in the stretch and held off a late-running Movie Moxy to win by three-quarters of a length. Jason Huayas, like Torres a seven-pound apprentice, rode the winner for trainer Dennis Lalman. The win was the 40th career victory for Huayas, who now races as a five-pound apprentice until the end of July, when he becomes a journeyman rider.

Mosienko ($11.20) had strung together four consecutive victories from last August through October, but had lost her last three entering the Sis City.

Lalman said he didn’t feel Mosienko was regressing and was happy to be able to run her a mile.

“She’s just had a couple things [come up], but I never thought she was taking a step back or anything,” Lalman said. “The mile helps her because she’s the kind of mare that doesn’t like to be clustered up with horses. If you see most of the races she’s run, she’s either second or on the lead. The last time she ran, she got caught between horses and she doesn’t like that. The mile gives her a chance to position herself.”

Mosienko, a 6-year-old daughter of Hat Trick, covered the mile over a good, sealed track in 1:40.87 and returned $11.20 to win.

*** No Burn, under Dylan Davis, rolled to a 4 3/4-length victory in the $60,000 More To Tell for males going a mile.

No Burn, trained by Oscar Barrera III, ran a mile in 1:39.01 and returned $6.20 as the favorite.

He was one of three winners ridden by Davis.

*** In the $55,000 Videogenic, odds-on favorite Melting Snow ($3.20), put away pace-challenger Quality Stones, then held off a challenge from Alarm Clock to win by 2 1/2 lengths under Kendrick Carmouche. Alarm Clock finished 1 1/4 lengths in front of Meraviglioso.

Melting Snow, a 5-year-old daughter of Lemon Drop Kid owned and trained by Charlton Baker, covered seven furlongs in 1:28.05.

*** In the $50,000 Dads Caps, Romantic Gamble, under Trevor McCarthy, rallied past favored Easy Day to win the six-furlong race by 1 3/4 lengths.

Romantic Gamble, an Ontario-bred son of Gamble’s Exchange, covered six furlongs in 1:11.93 and returned $19.20 as the fourth choice. He is owned by Steven Chircop and Eric Ross and is trained by Chircop. He is now 3 for 3 over a wet track.

*** Luni Sima ($11.40) came with a wide rally under Eric Cancel to win the $65,000 Peeping Tom by 1 1/4 lengths over O’Trouble, ending the latter’s three-race win streak.

Luni Sima is a 4-year-old son of Keen Ice owned by EKB Stables and Peter Walder and trained by Walder.
