Littlestitious made a splash Tuesday at Delta Downs, drawing out to a 10 1/4-length win in the $100,000 My Trusty Cat. She defeated a competitive group of 2-year-old fillies for the Serengeti Empress team of owner Joel Politi and trainer Tom Amoss, and earned an 80 Beyer Speed Figure. “I thought yesterday’s race by Littlestitious was very exciting,” Amoss said Wednesday. “That was her first time to stretch out to a two-turn distance, and she really seemed to improve doing it. As anybody would be this time of year with a 2-year-old, we’re excited about her future.” Amoss said Littlestitious emerged from the My Trusty Cat “nicely” and later this week was to ship to his division at Fair Grounds. He said plans are to be determined. “We’re fully aware of the series of races at Fair Grounds that lead to the Fair Grounds Oaks, and certainly that’s got our attention,” Amoss said. Littlestitious was a $190,000 yearling purchase at Keeneland last September on the recommendation of bloodstock agent Lauren Carlisle. Amoss said Carlisle found the daughter of Ghostzapper. :: Click to learn about our DRF's Free Past Performance program. “She liked those quite a bit,” Amoss said of offspring of Ghostzapper. Littlestitious was a maiden special weight winner in October at Keeneland. She is out of the winning mare Broadway Play, who is a half-sister to Oklahoma Derby winner Broadway Empire. Amoss’s plans this winter include having a division at Oaklawn. He returned to the track with a string of horses for the first time in more than 10 years last season. “We’re coming back and will be more of a presence in the way of stalls there,” he said. “It’s a hard meet to pass up when you look at those purses. I’m fortunate to be able to be a part of it. It’s a popular stall application.” Last year, Serengeti Empress dominated the Grade 2 Azeri at Oaklawn for Politi and Amoss.
