Little Ms Protocol pointing to Louisiana Champions Day Ladies

Little Ms Protocol was a sweeping 3 1/4-length winner of the $100,000 Magnolia at Delta Downs last Friday night. She is now being pointed for the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Ladies at Fair Grounds on Dec. 13, said her trainer, Patrick Devereux Jr.
The win in the Magnolia came in Little Ms Protocol’s first start since July.
“She needed the rest,” Devereux said. “We freshened her, gave her some spa days. She had a backlog. She cashed them in.”
Little Ms Protocol, an earner of more than $700,000, is owned by her breeder, Coteau Grove Farms.
The owner-trainer team will be in action in Thursday night’s ninth race at Delta with the promising 2-year-old Let Us Be Glad. Named by Devereux, the Louisiana-bred son of Eskendereya won an off-the-turf maiden special weight route at Louisiana Downs in his last start Sept. 12.
“I really think he’s a nice horse, but he may be a grass horse,” Devereux said. “He’s got that enormous foot on him. I hope Delta agrees with him. If it does, I think he’ll run well.”
Devereux said that with a strong performance on Thursday night Let Us Be Glad could advance to the $150,000 Legacy for Louisiana-breds at Delta on Nov. 22. But, the first order of business is Thursday night’s first-level allowance at 7 1/2 furlongs. The race is run around two turns at Delta.
“I think he’ll be fairly forwardly placed,” Devereux said. “I think he’ll be in the first four going into the first turn.”
Let Us Be Glad will break from post 3 under Diego Saenz.
