Litfin: Belmont pick four play for Sunday, Sept. 20

We’ll take a shot at Sunday’s early pick four as follows:

RACE 2 – ATTRACTIVE RIDE (6) shoots for a fourth straight win but could get some pace pressure, in which case STAR OF NEW YORK (1), COLLIN’S SMILE (2) and/or MCKENZIES WAY (5) could come into the picture late.
A – 6
B – 1
C – 2, 5

RACE 3 – Tough to split KHARAFA (8) and LUBASH (7) as they square off for the 11th time in the Ashley T. Cole, a race they have combined to win in each of the past three years. IRON POWER (1) will try to shake loose and slow things down on the lead.
A – 7, 8
B – 1

RACE 4 – GROUPTHINK (1) isn’t the most trustworthy sort, but his typical effort beats these restricted claimers. CHASE LANE (7) comes off an improved effort, rallying late to just miss at this level, and would benefit if a speed duel develops between WYNHURST (2) and the newly gelded MISTER POPSICLE (4). MISCHIEVIOUSLY (8) is first off a claim by Mike Maker and has competitive back figures.

RACE 5 – STRIKING STYLE (1) and QUEEN’S PARADE (1A) form a potent entry in this 1 1/4-mile allowance on the inner turf. MY SWEET GIRL (2), MISS CHATELAINE (3), and TROPHEE (5) are the backups.
