Litfin: Aqueduct pick five play for Saturday, Nov. 8
After a noticeable outside flow on the main track the past three days, combined with a turf course that’s been in use for a grand total of three races so far this month and not at all since Wednesday, you’d have to be crazy to start off Saturday’s card with a 50-cent pick five play before seeing how things are playing.
So of course, here we go with a caveman ticket that leans heavily on David Jacobson, whose last 14 runners have posted a 7-2-3 record, including three wins Friday.
Race 1: It seems reasonable to think we’ll get past this restricted claimer with the not-so-fearsome foursome of Harley (#2), the newly gelded Maximus Mike (#3), Artemus Paperboy (#4), and Patty and Nooche (#7).
Race 2: We’re using Mandolin Wins (#2) and Wild Dynaformer (#5) in this off-the-turf maiden race but also using a bunch of horses breaking outside – Ebreeq (#11), King of New York (#12), Oshie (#14), and Kick Off (#16).

Race 3: We’re singling My Adonis (#1), because A) Jacobson is hot; B) he does exceptionally when scratching one half of an entry; and C) because the horse is the class of the field and likely to be advantaged by the outside post.
Race 4: Playing for a pace meltdown in this speed-laden claiming sprint and using the pair of Bemata (#1), first off the Jacobson claim, and Real Estate Rich (#3), a deep closer who may wind up on the far outside, which is where you’ve wanted to be all week.
Race 5: Trying to cash out in this turf allowance with the four logical fillies: Sky Painter (#5), Morning Star (#6), Chrysolite (#7), and Hope Cross (#9), who will move up on the yielding course.
The $96 ticket: 2, 3, 4, 7 with 2, 5, 11, 12, 14, 16 with 1 with 1, 3 with 5, 6, 7, 9
