This 2-year-old trailed for the first half-mile after being bumped between horses at the start, and rallied past several rivals despite a broken rein in the stretch of a $75,000 off-the-turf maiden route in the mud.

First out since claimed for $40,000 back in May, this gelding was entered not to be claimed (per NYRA house rule for returnees), and just missed to a favored winner in a sharp effort. Still eligible for New York-bred allowance conditions.

Probably have to scan the entries at Gulfstream Park next time for this 3-year-old Phipps Stable homebred who hit the gate at the start and rallied belatedly off a slow pace first time on turf. Half-brother Point of Entry was a multiple Grade 1 winner of $2.4 million on the grass.
