Listenlindalisten makes it two consecutive stakes scores
RACE REPLAY IS NOT AVAILABLE
ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The Mark Casse-trained Listenlindalisten doubled up last week by taking the Eternal Search Stakes over 1 1/16 miles on Woodbine’s Tapeta. Two weeks prior, Listenlindalisten had recorded her first stakes score in the Passing Mood Stakes, a race originally scheduled for turf but moved to the Tapeta following heavy rain.
Casse said he was confident Listenlindalisten could handle the short comeback.
“She’s a big, strong filly,” he said. “She can handle it better than some. I never have a problem with two weeks. You have to give them a little break after those two weeks.”
Casse said Listenlindalisten would be pointed toward the $125,000 La Prevoyante Stakes for her next start. The one mile race on turf for Ontario-sired 3-year old fillies is on Sept. 10.
Listenlindalisten’s two stakes wins continued a nice year for owners Manfred and Penny Conrad of Conrad Farms, who also won the Grade 3 Royal North Stakes on July 29 with Jennifer Lynnette.
“They’re a wonderful couple,” Casse said. “They love racing and they love their horses. It gives me great pleasure to see them do well because they’re wonderful people and they deserve any success that they get.”
