Lincoln State Fair track report

Saturday's races at Lincoln State Fair had a New York flavor, as they were attended by a group from Fort Edward, N.Y., the members of Fort Edward High School's class of 1956. Phil Fennley, a Fort Edward native who now lives in Omaha, was joined by other class members as they prepare for a 50-year class reunion next year.

Fennley was a regular patron at the now closed Ak-Sar-Ben. He lives a short drive from Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and the famous racetrack there.

Leading rider Curtis Kimes picked up his second four-win day of the year on Saturday's card, including a sweep of the early daily double aboard Big Time Hope ($7.20) and Kinsman Valor ($8.20). He added wins aboard Mad Man Max ($7.80) in the fourth and finished up the day winning with My Son Jordan ($12).

R. D. Williams, second to Kimes in the rider standings, had three winners on Sunday and four more on Monday's holiday card. Williams opened the card with What About Bob ($5.60), then booted home Yah Sure ($13.80) in the fourth. He closed out the day winning the late daily double aboard What About David ($14.80) for trainer Andy Johnson in the Big Red Mile Handicap and Beppe ($8.60) in the nightcap for leading trainer David Anderson.
