Action for CD Racing Club
The last month of the 38-day spring meet could be an exciting one for the Churchill Downs Racing Club as the fan-driven initiative continues to flourish and expand.
Warrior’s Club, an earner of $216,924 for the original syndicate, is entered in a second-level allowance Saturday; Dial Me is being pointed to a June 22 allowance; and a pair of unstarted 2-year-old fillies, Card Club and a yet-to-be-named daughter of Sky Mesa, are expected to debut before the meet ends June 30. All are trained by D. Wayne Lukas.
Started last June as a way to introduce everyday fans to the experience of horse ownership, the club now comprises several different 200-member groups. Any profits, including those generated by Warrior’s Club, are being reinvested in new horses.
