Lights on Broadway takes McGregor

Lights on Broadway went over the $500,000 mark in earnings Saturday, when he drove to a 1 1/4-length win in the $50,000 for Texas-breds at Lone Star Park. Charming Socialite rallied for second over the sloppy track, and it was another 2 1/2 lengths back in third to Smile Away.

Lights on Broadway ($10.80) raced a few lengths behind Smile Away, who led the field through an opening quarter in 22.06 seconds and a half-mile in 44.53. Lights on Broadway began his bid at the quarter pole, took command in the stretch, and went on to cover the six-furlong distance in 1:09.24. Jeremy Beasley rode the winner for trainer Chris Hartman.

Lights on Broadway earned $30,000 for the win and now has a record of 12 wins from 55 starts and earnings of $522,480.
