Lighthouse Sound finds an ideal spot in claiming sprint

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – There are several classy runners in Friday’s fourth race at Woodbine, including the onetime stakes performers Courtville, Incredicat, and Sky Commander, but the $40,000 claimer seems made to order for Lighthouse Sound.
Lighthouse Sound is coming off back-to-back seconds in a pair of claimers going a mile and 1 1/16 miles. The closer has lots of speed to chase Friday, when he’ll cut back to seven furlongs, the distance of his last score against $50,000 claimers in June 2013.
Patrick Husbands picks up the mount on Lighthouse Sound, a 7-year-old gelding trained by Lorne Richards.

Courtville has struggled this year but is exiting an improved effort in a $40,000 starter allowance traveling 1 1/8 miles. His trainer, Laurie Silvera, possesses impressive numbers with turnbacks.
Incredicat is changing surfaces off a fade job against $32,000 claimers and should exhibit more stamina in his second run of the year. He can be the dominant front-runner under Justin Stein.
DRF FORMULATOR FACT: No. 5 Incredicat (15-1 morning line). Trainer Ross Armata is 2 for 8 with an incredible $16.92 ROI over the past three years with horses going from sythetic to turf with less than 45 days since last race.Click for more details. – Mike Hogan
Sky Commander is dropping from second-level allowance/$62,500 optional-claiming company to where he should make an impact. Two starts ago, he finished in a dead heat for third behind two rivals who both came back to run well in the Grade 2 Highlander on Sunday.
The versatile Northern Hammer is coupled with the lone main-track-only entrant, Chief Thundercloud. Both are trained by Shane Learn.
