Lezcano hoping for end-of-month return

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Jockey Jose Lezcano, who has not ridden since Jan. 31 owing to shoulder and knee surgery, is hoping to return to race-riding April 29 at Belmont Park, his agent said.

Agent Jason Beides said Lezcano’s rehab is going well and he hopes to get greenlighted to get on horses in the morning in a week to 10 days.
“If everything goes perfect, the 29th would be feasible,” Beides said.
Lezcano was the leading rider at the 2019 Belmont spring/summer meet.
