Barbara D. Livingston First Mission, shown training at Pimlico, was 5-2 on the morning line for the Preakness before having to be withdrawn due to an injury.
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - First Mission, who was scratched from the Preakness 36 hours before the race due to a left hind issue, returned to the worktab on Aug. 29, breezing three furlongs 38.40 seconds at Churchill Downs.
“Just something to get him back on the worktab,” trainer Brad Cox said. “He’s moving great, looks great, we’ll see where he takes us.”
First Mission, a son of Street Sense, has won 2 of 3 starts, including the Grade 3 Lexington Stakes at Keeneland on April 15. First Mission was the 5-2 second choice on the Preakness morning line before having to scratch.
