Lexie Lou works for Wonder Where Stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Queen’s Plate and Woodbine Oaks winner Lexie Lou worked over the turf training course Wednesday in preparation for her next start here Aug. 10 in the $250,000 Wonder Where Stakes.
With the cones placed well out from the rail, Lexie Lou breezed five-eighths over firm ground in 1:01.80 before galloping out in her usual strong manner under jockey Patrick Husbands.
“Patrick said she went super,” trainer Mark Casse said. “We are all very pleased.”
The Wonder Where, a 10-furlong grass route for Canadian-bred 3-year-old fillies, is the second leg of the Canadian Triple Tiara. It is expected to lure a stellar field that also could include the upwardly mobile Hantaloop and Ontario Damsel Stakes winner Regal Conqueror.
Lexie Lou wasn’t nominated to the second leg of the Canadian Triple Crown, the $500,000 Prince of Wales Stakes on dirt at Fort Erie on Tuesday.
Ami’s Holiday breezed five-eighths in 1:01 over the Polytrack here Wednesday and should be favored in the Wales off a troubled second in the Plate. The Wales will be drawn Friday along with the rest of Fort Erie’s Tuesday card.
