Lewis Michael relocates to Questroyal North

Grade 2 winner Lewis Michael is relocating to Questroyal North in Stillwater, N.Y., to stand the 2014 breeding season. The 11-year-old Rahy horse previously stood at Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Ky. He will stand at Questroyal for a $3,000 fee, payable when the foal stands and nurses.

Lewis Michael won seven of 23 starts in four seasons and earned $811,714 for owner-breeder Frank Calabrese and trainer Wayne Catalano. He scored three stakes victories, including Grade 2 wins in the Washington Park Handicap at Arlington Park and in the Pat O’Brien Handicap at Del Mar, setting track records in both of those wins.

Lewis Michael, who is out of the multiple stakes-winning Broad Brush mare Justenuffheart, has sired three crops of racing age, and his best runner to date is multiple stakes winner Dreaming of Sophia.

He is from an accomplished female family, as his full sister is champion Dreaming of Anna and his half-sister is Grade 2 winner Justenuffhumor. Lewis Michael’s dam is out of the Ramsey Farm foundation mare Kitten’s First, the dam of champion and 2013 leading general sire Kitten’s Joy and of multiple Grade 1 winner Precious Kitten.

The stallion will be available for inspection at Questroyal North’s stallion show on Jan. 25.
