Thursday’s card at Gulfstream Park includes a $508,159 carryover in the Rainbow 6. The 20-cent minimum bet begins on race 5 and is a tough sequence with no standout singles.

Some will focus on the Michael Maker-trained Hoponthebusgus in the eighth race. He looked good winning his last start and is coming right back at the same level in the $12,500 claimer for 3-year-olds and up. It drew a full field, though, and he will need the right kind of trip to win the one-mile race on turf.

The “all” button might be the way to go in the featured ninth race. Lenzi’s Lucky Lady will likely be favored in the first-level allowance race for 3-year-old fillies, which has a $75,000 claiming option. However, she has not raced since she finished sixth as the favorite in the $200,000 Florida Sire Stakes Susan’s Girl on Aug. 31. Plus, despite being a two-time stakes winner, she is in for the price.

Nonetheless, if Lenzi’s Lucky Lady runs as well as she did in her first three races, she will be tough to beat in the six-furlong dash, which drew five horses.

Trained by Kathleen O’Connell, Lenzi’s Lucky Lady began her career with a sharp win in a maiden special weight race for Florida-bred 2-year-old fillies and followed it up with a 5 1/4-length romp in the $75,000 Golden Isles. Her win in the Golden Isles came on a sloppy track at Gulfstream. Showing an affinity for a wet surface, she romped again on a sloppy track in the $100,000 Florida Sire Stakes Desert Vixen. In both races, the daughter of With Distinction came from just off the pace.

In the Susan’s Girl, she forced an honest pace before fading in the seven-furlong race, contested over a fast track.

The shape of Thursday’s race should work for Lenzi’s Lucky Lady. She will break from post 3, and Emisael Jaramillo should be able to put her into a good spot sitting just off a moderate pace, which will likely be set by her stablemate Sweet Mia.

Sweet Mia won’t mind the cutback in distance after forcing the pace and finishing a distant third going seven furlongs at the same level June 20.

Reluctant Bride is going to appreciate the class relief after trying Grade 3 company in her last two races.

Trained by Patrick Biancone, Reluctant Bride won her debut going five furlongs on turf in a maiden special weight race Jan. 19 and ran a good race to finish sixth in the Grade 3 Sweetest Chant in her next start Feb. 1. She lost by only 3 1/2 lengths in the one-mile turf race won by Cheermeister, who repeated in the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride.

In her next and most recent start, Reluctant Bride showed she can handle dirt with a fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Davona Dale on Feb. 29, won by Tonalist’s Shape.

Cases also can be made for the other two in the race, Addilyn and Classy Beast.

Addilyn is coming off a third-place finish in the $75,000 Game Face for trainer Antonio Sano on June 6.

Classy Beast, trained by David Fawkes, moves back to dirt after closing with a rush on turf to finish third in a first-level allowance race with a $50,000 claiming option for 3-year-old fillies on June 19.
