Lentenor to stand in Pennsylvania in 2022

Lentenor, a full brother to the popular and star-crossed 2006 Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro, will continue his stud career at Cabin Creek Farm in Bernville, Pa., for 2022.
Stakes winner Lentenor, a 15-year-old Dynaformer horse out of the Carson City mare La Ville Rouge, entered stud at Calumet Farm in Kentucky for the 2013 season and also stood at the Indiana Stallion Station as a regional stallion for Calumet. The Kentucky operation had consigned him to the upcoming Keeneland January breeding stock sale, along with fellow Calumet stallions Snapy Halo and Behesht. Stallions entered in public sales are often privately sold prior to going through the ring, and such is the case with Lentenor. Ryan Campbell of the Indiana Stallion Station announced on his Facebook page that he had moved to purchase and relocate the horse.
“I would like to thank Calumet for this opportunity and for the many years of his life while we had him in Indiana,” Campbell wrote. “I would like to thank Lentenor’s fans for the love and support that they continue to show him. We appreciate your love for him and will continue to keep you informed about his life and make him available to the fans. . . . We have a long-standing friendship and extended family relationship with [manager Maria Vorhauer] at Cabin Creek and know that Lentenor is in excellent hands to continue his stallion career and enjoy his life with the greatest care and love possible. We will be announcing a breeding bonus program in the near future to give breeders added incentive to breed to Lentenor. . . . We also would like to thank the family at Indiana Stallion Station for their support of us and Lentenor while he was with them and in this new adventure in his and our life. We cannot be more excited and are honored to have Lentenor as part of our family for the rest of his life.”
The move to Pennsylvania represents a return to his roots for Lentenor, the sire of stakes winner Uphold. His breeders and racing owners, Roy and Gretchen Jackson, base their Lael Farm in Chester County, Pa. La Ville Rouge, 26, resides there as a pensioner. Lentenor and Barbaro are among the five Dynaformer foals out of the mare, all named after notable foxhounds.
