Legal Review scores in Bull Page

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Legal Review held off 6-5 favorite Doctor Jack in the final strides to prevail in Monday's $126,200 Bull Page Stakes at Woodbine.

Foxley and It's Time Bear battled through honest fractions in the six-furlong sprint for Ontario-sired 2-year-olds, while Legal Review assumed a stalking position near the rail under Patrick Husbands.

Legal Review came inside the leaders at the quarter pole and then kicked clear in the stretch before holding on for a half-length score, in a time of 1:10.16. Doctor Jack, who mounted a very wide rally from well back, was 3 1/4 lengths clear of Arepeatea, the third-place finisher in the eight-horse field.

"He was in the same spot the last time I rode him and was a little intimidated," Husbands said. "Today, he wasn't intimidated at all. If I was on the outside, I probably would have won easier."

Legal Review ($8.80) banked $75,000 in his first stakes triumph for Woodford Racing LLC and trainer Mark Casse.
