Lawson named CEO of Woodbine Entertainment Group
ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Jim Lawson has been appointed chief executive of Woodbine Entertainment Group, a position he has held on an interim basis since Nick Eaves left the company March 31.
Lawson was WEG’s chairman from 2012 until this year. Clay Horner is the new chairman of the board. Horner was previously the vice chairman of the board.
“My goal as CEO is to lead a team that will transform Woodbine Entertainment Group into a leading entertainment company,” Lawson said. “Achieving this goal will provide a long-term and sustainable foundation for the company and the horse-racing and breeding industry.”
Lawson, 56, is a lawyer and horse owner. His father, Mel, owned Canadian champions Let’s Go Blue, Eternal Search, and Ginger Gold.
